JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (Nasdaq: JASO) (“JA Solar”), one of the world’s largest manufacturers of high-performance solar power products, today announced that it has received TÜV SÜD certification for its standard 60-cell, double-glass modules, after successfully passing all the reliability tests required by IEC61215 and IEC61730 standards. The Company launched the mass production of its double-glass modules for the global market in early August 2015.
As the installation of solar electricity generation grows at an unprecedented rate worldwide and the performance of PV products continues to improve, demand for high quality and reliable PV modules that can operate in harsh environments without rapid degradation has grown substantially. JA Solar has developed its double-glass PV modules to meet this growing demand.
The Company’s standard 60-
The Company’s standard 60-cell multi-Si modules are encapsulated with 2.5mm thick high-strength tempered glass on both sides and utilize a frameless design. Compared to regular PV modules with glass covering only the front side, the double-glass modules are proven to be much more reliable and endurable, and suitable for deployment in extreme environments of high temperatures, high-humidity, windy, salty, or arid conditions such as coastal fronts, fish farms, and deserts. Moreover, JA Solar’s double-glass modules are designed based on IEC standards for 1500V systems with a 30-year performance warranty, which guarantees no greater than 2.5% power degradation in the first year, followed by a linear annual degradation rate of less than 0.5%. At the end of this warranty, the performance level of the double-glass module will still be 83% of its initial rated power.
