During his visit to France, Yukiya Amano, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), met the ASN Chairman, Pierre-Franck Chevet, on 27th May at the ASN headquarters.
After holding discussions with Mr Amano on the subject of national and international current events relating to nuclear safety, the ASN Chairman gave the IAEA Director General a letter signed by the members of INRA, the International Nuclear Regulators Association, for which ASN is the Chairman in 2015. This letter contained proposals for improvements to the international missions by the IAEA experts.
Mr Amano also mentioned the context of the forthcoming IRRS review mission to be held in Japan in early 2016; he also expressed his thanks to Philippe Jamet, an ASN Commissioner, who will be in charge of coordinating this mission.
