UAE-France To Co-Focus On Clean Energy Development Growth

France and the UAE are all set to launch a bilateral programme that focuses on the development of clean energy in industries that are hard to abate. This has come into focus following the bestowal of Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, President designate for COP28, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology in the UAE Government, and also the Chairman of Masdar, Bruno Le Maire, as well as the French Minister of the Economy, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, and Finance, as part of the French Minister’s visit to the UAE.

In a statement, it was revealed that the collaboration is spearheaded by the French and Emirati firms across the clean and renewable sectors, thereby chalking out the development and functioning of more than 6.2 gigawatts of clean energy that is also led by the industry leaders from both countries.

As per the statement, with this bilateral advancement and program, both France and the UAE will push to give out tangible and positive impacts when it comes to the climate change mitigation dimensions and also maximise the push of climate-oriented biodiversity projects.

This programme is going to be launched during the COP28 which is slated to be held in Dubai later this year in November and will emphasize its efforts on both these countries, prioritize hydrogen with low carbon as well as sustainable power production that includes their value chains.

The government is also looking to public financing tools leveraging in order to facilitate apt projects that are climate friendly.
