GMZ Energy launches self-powered gas boiler

AI Summary

GMZ Energy, a developer of high-temperature thermoelectric generation (TEG) solutions, announced the successful demonstration of a self-powered gas boiler, that can operate without grid power.

“The unique thermal and mechanical stability of GMZ’s patented thermoelectric modules are critical in high-temperature applications, such as boilers, where temperatures reach 1,200 degrees Celsius,” said Dr. Martin Cleary, applications specialist at GMZ. “GMZ’s new, high-power module, the TG16-1.0, is ideal for this type of application because its high power density can take full advantage of the high temperatures associated with combustion.”

When disconnected from external power sources, the boiler continued to operate without interruption due to the company’s TG16-1.0, a high-power thermoelectric module that converts a portion of the boiler’s internal heat directly into electricity.
