EDF Renewable Energy has placed an order with Vestas for 450-MW of wind turbine generators, for projects in New Mexico and Kansas.

“EDF Renewable Energy is pleased to be working with Vestas to bring an additional 450 MW of U.S. wind projects online by the end of 2015,” said Ryan Pfaff, executive vice president of EDF Renewable Energy.

“The 450-MW of orders includes our first V110-2.0 MW project with EDF RE,” added Chris Brown, president of Vestas’ Sales and Service Division in the United States and Canada.

The order is part of the Master Supply Agreement (MSA) announced in September 2013.

Most recently, EDF Renewable Energy signed a 20-year power purchase with Great Plains Energy (NYSE: GXP) for a wind power project in Kansas.
