Increased Land Opening For Onshore Wind Turbines In Germany

Increased Land Opening For Onshore Wind Turbines In Germany

In order to allow for additional onshore wind development, German air navigation services company DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung is condensing the size of its restricted areas surrounding omnidirectional radio beacons. The action will make new spaces available for the installation of wind turbines close to its radio navigational aids in Germany.

According to the organisation, the change needs intense cooperation from a number of official governmental bodies and will significantly contribute to the shift to renewable energy. Volker Wissing, the federal minister for digital and transportation in Germany, stated that wind power is crucial for the nation’s supply of climate-friendly energy.

On the basis of the most recent scientific results, they have succeeded in a very short period in minimising the safe distances between wind turbines and air navigation and meteorological systems. This will accelerate the growth of wind power generation. They have now successfully overcome a big roadblock in this procedure.

He also thanked all those engaged who have successfully and sincerely reconciled the many requirements. The federal minister for economic affairs and climate action, Robert Habeck, continued that they will expand the use of wind energy while preserving the security of radio navigation. This fruitful collaboration with the aviation authorities is a very nice demonstration of how they are reducing barriers at all levels to expedite the spread of renewable energy sources.

As more locations are made available for the construction of wind turbines as a result of DFS’s efforts, the capacity to grant licences for upcoming planning requests for wind generators will greatly rise.
