EDF renewable unit to buy output of Kansas wind energy project

 

EDF Renewable Energy said the company signed a 20-year power purchase with Great Plains Energy (NYSE: GXP) for a wind power project in Kansas.

The 150-MW Slate Creek Wind Project will use 75 Vestas 2.0-MW wind turbines. Construction on the plant is expected to begin in late 2014 with commercial operation by late 2015.
