Sacyr Concesiones and Globalvia have secured a new contract to operate, maintain and renew all toll-free motorway segments in the Greater Dublin area in Ireland.
The €35m contract will initially run for a five-year period, and can be extended for another two years.
During the contract period the two companies will provide winter maintenance, incident response, routine maintenance and renewal works.
As well as the 161km of motorways, the project involves the operation, maintenance and renewal of a further 109km of slip roads as well as roundabouts in the region.
Globalvia currently manages the M50 motorway from which these motorway sections diverge, as well as the M6 toll road from Galway to Ballinasloe in the west of the country.
With the latest contract, Globalvia reaffirms its position as the primary operator of Ireland’s busiest motorways. It operates sections of roads with traffic volumes exceeding 100,000 vehicles per day.
Globalvia was established in 2007 by FCC and Bankia as an infrastructure investor and operator that currently operates 30 infrastructure assets in the roads, rail, ports, airports and hospitals sectors.
