Power Transmission & Distribution Technology Expo in Cologne for second year running… gets bigger and even better!

Following on from the success of the launch edition in September 2025, Power Transmission & Distribution Technology Expo will be held in Cologne, Germany, for the second year running, in November 2026.

Power Transmission & Distribution Technology Expo.The inaugural staging of the event saw 110 exhibitors and over 1,200 attendees from 62 countries coming together in Cologne for the world’s first exhibition 100% focused on next-generation power transmission and distribution technology. This year’s show is expected to see up to 250 exhibitors present.

Visitors to the show included key decision-makers and decision-influencers from TSOs, DSOs and utility companies from across Europe and beyond.

Building on success

Power Transmission & Distribution Technology Expo 2026 is expected to bring in up to 250 exhibitors and 2,500+ visitors, together with over 80 expert speakers across free-to-attend technology presentation stages located within the exhibition hall, all directly involved in the design, development and construction of efficient, safe and resilient power grids.

PTDX 26Exhibitors are all blue-chip international suppliers, including many from India, Turkey, Austria, UK and, of course, Germany. A number of exhibitors have already stepped forward to showcase new technologies not yet presented to the power transmission sector, including innovations in drones, thermal imaging and surveillance systems.

New for 2026

In addition to technologies relating to all aspects of electricity transmission, from transformers, substations and switchgear to remote fault detection, grid monitoring and demand forecasting, the upcoming event will also include three specialist Feature Zones, focusing on Grid Resilience (sponsored by Nexans), Health & Safety, and Cybersecurity.

Networking Party and Industry Innovation Awards

Following its popularity and success last year, the 2026 event will once again include a Networking Party at the end of the second day, this year incorporating a special Innovation Awards presentation, recognising outstanding innovation in key areas of the power transmission and distribution industry.
