AMEC wins Dounreay nuclear services contract

AI Summary

The contract was awarded by Dounreay Site Restoration Limited (DSRL), the site licence company that is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former nuclear research site on behalf of the UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.

Under the contract, AMEC will provide a wide range of consultancy services including design services, safety case preparation, environmental support services, project management, specialist engineering, decommissioning studies, waste strategy services and technical support.

The potential value of the framework was not disclosed.

“AMEC has been providing technical services to DSRL for a number of years and this new contract will allow us to significantly expand our services to a very important client as we continue to grow our nuclear business,” said Clive White, president of AMEC’s Clean Energy Europe business.

Plans currently envisage closure of the Dounreay nuclear site by 2025.
