Alcazar Energy Partners – AEP, the renewable energy investor, has gone ahead and done a deal to acquire Niat, the 500MW Egypt wind farm project, which originated due to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.
The agreement is going to offer Alcazar complete ownership as well as operational responsibility as far as the project is concerned, therefore helping with its further development and construction along with operation, confirmed the Luxembourg-based investor on November 20, 2025. Apparently, Siemens Gamesa is going to continue as a strategic partner throughout the final development stages and is also anticipated to be the technology provider for the project.
It is well to be noted that the Niat wind farm is forecasted to generate almost 2.5 TWh of electricity once it gets commissioned, or enough so as to cover the consumption of almost 280,000 homes every year. Its operation is going to support the goal of Egypt in order to lift the renewables share when it comes to its power generation mix to 42% by the end of the decade.
Notably, Alcazar has been pretty active in the renewable energy market of Egypt ever since 2014 and is also the largest equity investor in the Benban solar park complex based out of Aswan. In addition to buying the 500MW Egypt wind farm project, the company looks forward to adding 2 GW of onshore wind in the country, which is a plan that is underpinned by a deal along with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company – EETC as well as the New and Renewable Energy Authority – NREA.
