GCL Intelligent Energy (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., which is a subsidiary of GCL Energy Technology – GCLET under GCL Group, went on to sign shareholder agreements pertaining to a couple of large-scale clean energy projects in Indonesia on October 31. These two energy projects are the 100 MW Gajah Mungkur floating solar project and, along with it, the 100 MW Banyuwangi ground-mounted solar project. These agreements happen to represent another landmark in the international growth for GCL and, at the same time, reaffirm the commitment of the company when it comes to the global clean energy transition.
Notably, at the signing ceremony, the Chief Representative of GCL Group in Indonesia, Yu Xiaodong, led his team in putting in place the shareholder agreements with PLN Indonesia Power – PLN IP, which is a core subsidiary of the state-owned utility of Indonesia, Perusahaan Listrik Negara – PLN. Both the projects, which are recognized as priority initiatives as per the Hijaunesia Plan of Indonesia, happen to be government-led programs so as to speed up the development of renewable energy, which itself reflects the deepening partnership that is there between GCL Group as well as PLN. Once completely functional, the facilities are going to support the shift by Indonesia toward renewable energy and at the same time also help in making sure that a dependable supply of clean power for the region is there.
At the event, Mr. Yu floated the international business roadmap of the GCL Group and also its long-term growth plans to the Vice President of PLN IP, Ms. Julita Indah, along with her delegation. According to Ms. Julita Indah, she went on to applaud the technical expertise and global leadership in renewable energy of GCL and also expressed interest by PLN IP in expanding collaboration along with GCL throughout photovoltaics, wind power, and waste-to-energy, as well as energy storage, with the objective of supporting the transition to sustainable energy by Indonesia.
It is well to be noted that the Indonesia team of GCL Energy Technology International has been pretty active when it comes to the local clean energy market for some years now. The fact is that their operational excellence, professionalism, and, along with it, consistent delivery has gone on to earn them strong recognition from the government agencies and PLN as well as local partners. These accomplishments have gone ahead and built quite a robust foundation for the consistent international expansion by the GCL Group in terms of clean energy projects and at the same time also exemplify the mission of Bringing Green Power to Life that has been rooted in the company.
