CNNC’s LEU-MNSR project wins international award

Recently, the 37th Reduced Enrichment for Research and Test Reactors (RERTR) 2016 International Meeting, jointly hosted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the United States Department of Energy, convened in Antwerp, Belgium.

During the conference, the project titled “the low enriched uranium (LEU) of prototype miniature neutron source reactor (MNSR)” studied by China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) won the outstanding achievement award, one of two awards given at the meeting.

Since 1978, the meeting, held every single year, mainly focuses on the technology of reduced enrichment for research and test reactors, and awards projects that contribute to the study of the RERTR technology. This year, the conference attracted 160 representatives from 22 countries, according to the organizer.
